Chapter 05 takes us to The Springs Resort & Golf Club.
Played in May 2026, The Springs was a course we arrived at with plenty of curiosity. Some venues announce themselves immediately. Others reveal their character slowly. The Springs falls into the second category.

Tucked away in the Oxfordshire countryside, it feels like a place built around the idea of escaping the everyday. From the moment you arrive, there is a calmness to the surroundings. The clubhouse, the setting and the atmosphere all create the feeling that you are somewhere designed not just for golf, but for enjoying the entire experience.
The first impression is one of quality.
Everything feels well considered. The welcome is genuine, the facilities are impressive and there is a relaxed confidence throughout the club. Nothing feels rushed or overly formal. It has the feeling of a venue that understands great golf days are made up of more than just eighteen holes.
Out on the course, The Springs continues to impress.

The layout makes excellent use of its natural surroundings, with tree-lined fairways, well-positioned hazards and a variety of holes that keep the round interesting from start to finish. There is a good balance between challenge and enjoyment, with every section of the course offering something different.
What stands out most is the sense of space.
The course feels open and peaceful, with each hole offering its own character while still flowing naturally into the next. Some holes reward aggression, others demand patience, but throughout the round there is a consistent feeling that every shot has a purpose.
The Springs is a course that grows on you.

The more you play, the more you appreciate the thought behind the design. The subtle changes in elevation, the way holes are framed by the surrounding landscape and the variety of challenges presented throughout the round all add to the experience.
The scorecard tells only part of the story.
The lasting impression comes from the course itself, the surroundings and the feeling of spending time somewhere that genuinely values the experience of golf. From the first tee to the final green, The Springs delivers a round that feels relaxed, enjoyable and memorable for all the right reasons.
Away from the course, The Springs delivers just as strongly. The resort element adds another dimension, creating a venue where you could easily make more than just a quick visit. The service throughout the day was excellent, with everyone we met contributing to the welcoming atmosphere that makes a club memorable.

For LOFT 312, The Springs represents another side of the journey.
Not every great golf experience comes from a famous name or a historic reputation. Sometimes it comes from discovering a place that quietly gets everything right.
The Springs does exactly that.
A beautiful setting. A welcoming atmosphere. A course that deserves to be discovered.
